On peut penser qu'on connait une
personne plus qu'on se connait, mais quand les masques tombent on se
rend compte qu'on ne connaisait rien, qu'ils n'avaient rien de
différents d'un étranger.
One might think that a person knows more than we know each other, but when the masks fall we realize that we connaisait nothing, they did nothing different from a stranger.

Euh.. moi j'aurai dit :
We can think that we know a person more than ourselves, but when the masks fall we realise that we knew nothing, they were nothing more than a stranger.
J'ai modifié la fin, j'ai mis ils n'étaient rien de plus qu'un étranger, car c'est trop compliqué sinon ;)
